Opening Session

A student-made robot with 6 wheelsAs one of the opening events of this year’s MESD STEM day, Dr. Curtis O’Malley and a group of his students from the NMT Mechanical Engineering Department Outreach program will present. To begin the presentation, the group will explain their paths throughout STEM, where they currently are in their various STEM careers, and their plans for the future. This introduction to the outreach crew will contain a sneak peek into some of the past, current, and future projects that the outreach crew is working on. We hope to introduce different corners of STEM that some don’t automatically realize are STEM-related but can lead to very captivating careers. After the presentation and (hopefully) time to field questions, the team will demonstrate some of the awesome robots that our outreach team works on.
