New Mexico Network for Women in Science and Engineering is a volunteer, professional organization that strives to connect women across New Mexico who have a passion for their chosen fields in science and engineering – inclusive of all areas within STEM and allied professions. NM Network members strive to make their communities stronger and embrace the development of programs for women that foster growth and empowerment through STEM-related disciplines and educational experiences.

NMNWSE strives to continue its 43-year legacy of active engagement by New Mexico women in STEM who pay-it-forward by volunteering at STEM events and conferences, serving as judges during science fairs and competitions, joining the Board of Directors, leading or joining STEM committees and much more. NM Network has hosted 30 annual technical symposiums, bringing together hundreds of women scientists. Members take a much-needed break, one weekend a year, to gather together in a welcoming, caring environment to re-energize, learn about other members’ work, and cultivate a network of encouragement and support.

In 2007, the NM Network established the IMPACT! Award to recognize a New Mexico woman for her extraordinary efforts in encouraging and helping women enter into and succeed in STEM fields, as well as her professional accomplishments.

NM Network members have helped provide gateway experiences in STEM to more than 25,000 female-participants since 1980, with more than 50 percent of those young women coming from underrepresented minority groups. The Network has provided tote bags, seed funding, insurance and promotional support for more than 140 STEM Conferences in New Mexico since 1980.

We welcome new members and hope you will join our efforts to advance women in STEM careers.
