NMNWSE invites students in grades 6–9 from the Española area and surrounding communities to attend a free, one-day conference featuring hands-on technical career workshops.
The event is designed to help students explore STEM career options and build confidence in their interests and skills. While focused on empowering female students, the conference is open to all who want to learn, grow, and explore STEM together.
Lunch and morning snacks will be provided to all.

Eligibility:
- Students in 6th–9th grade attending schools in Northern New Mexico
- Attendance is required for the full session on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Schedule:
- 9:00 – Keynote Address – Prof Nelia Dunbar, PhD, former State Geologist and volcanologist,
- 10:15 – Students attend 1st workshop
- 11:00 Lunch & Demonstration Tables
- 12:15 – Students attend 2nd workshop
- 1:00 Closing remarks & activities
- 1:30 End of event
